No próximo dia 19 de outubro, pelas 13h00, decorrerá mais uma edição do Clube de Leitura da FEUP, desta vez, para celebrar o centenário do nascimento de Agustina Bessa-Luís. Esta sessão será conduzida por Fátima Marinho, Professora da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto e a moderação estará a cargo de Augusto Sousa, Professor da Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto. A sessão terá lugar na sala I-105.
As obras de Agustina Bessa-Luís revelam uma profunda reflexão sobre a condição humana sendo A Sibila um dos expoentes dessa reflexão. A sua obra foi distinguida com os mais importantes prémios literários nacionais: Prémio Nacional de Novelística em 1967; Prémio Ricardo Malheiros da Academia das Ciências de Lisboa em 1966 e em 1977; Prémio PEN Clube e D. Dinis em 1980; Grande Prémio do Romance e da Novela da Associação Portuguesa de Escritores em 1984 e Prémio Cidade do Porto. Prémio Vergílio Ferreira 2004, atribuído pela Universidade de Évora pela sua carreira como ficcionista, e Prémio Camões em 2004. A 22 de março de 2005 foi distinguida, juntamente com o poeta Eugénio de Andrade, com o doutoramento "Honoris Causa", atribuído pela Universidade do Porto.

On 19th October at 1pm, another edition of the FEUP Reading Club will take place, this time to celebrate the centenary of Agustina Bessa-Luís’s birth. This session will be led by Fátima Marinho, Professor of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto and the moderator will be Augusto Sousa, Professor of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. The session will take place in room I-105.
Agustina Bessa-Luís's works reveal a deep reflection on the human condition, of which A Sibila is one of the exponents. Her work has been awarded the most important national literary prizes: The National Novel Prize in 1967; the Ricardo Malheiros Prize of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences in 1966 and in 1977; the PEN Clube and D. Dinis Prize in 1980; the Grand Prize for Romance and Novel of the Portuguese Association of Writers in 1984 and the City of Oporto Prize. The Vergílio Ferreira Prize 2004, awarded by Évora University for her career as a fictionist, and the Camões Prize in 2004. On March 22nd 2005 she was distinguished, together with the poet Eugénio de Andrade, with the doctorate "Honoris Causa", awarded by the University of Porto.
